Ex Isle of Man Transport Atlantean 134 and Isle of Man Buses
Isle of Man Transport 134 Restoration Part 2
12th November 2009

Our original intention was to restore 135, we then heard about two other Ex Portsmouth buses 134 and 144 lying in a field near Kirk Michael, we made an offer to the owner for 1 of them but ended up with 2! so all in all we had a fleet of 3 Atlanteans at one stage. We decided 134 would be best for restoration as it still retained its double doors. So the plan is to sandblast and paint all the chassis, service all the mechanicals and rebuild and paint the body work.

We've had to sand blast work we've already done as the damp in the hanger has caused a bit of surface rust, we are using epoxy 2 pack paint on the chassis now this stuff is used in the north sea so should be good.

With bus in the air we can get better access to the chassis again, we'll get the new sand blaster working finish priming the front of the chassis then get some silvering done, the last few months have been so damp w've not got any work done at all. Roll on dry weather!
